Going back to before the Renaissance (when they were called paintings), artists would meticulously lengthen or shorten penises or enlarge boobs or fix bad teeth.
By the 19th Century, photographers would labor in the darkroom to remove zits from children's school yearbook photos and moustaches from the upper lips of karens wealthy entitled women.
By the 20th Century, Soviet technology improved the darkroom techniques with astonishingly mediocre results. That all changed by 2025 (the techniques, not the astonishingly mediocre results).
In the finest of Soviet traditions, Kim Jon Un's North Korea (the best Korea), recently continued the practice by digitally removing a pair of disfavored officials from photos where they're in the presence of Dear Leader Kim Jong Un.

Now the methods for removing "extra people" (undesirables) have nearly been perfected, especially with AI in the sidecar. Adobe and other graphics software vendors have produced tools such as Remove Extra People that can do the job quickly and fairly well.
For an example,I tried it with this campaign poster of NYC Mayoral Candidate Zohran Mamdani that I grabbed off the web. By combining the commands, "remove communists" + "remove antisemitic islamists" + "remove useless recently naturalized anti-American immigrants," I achieved a rather fair result:
Don't tell liberals that it only works with photos and graphics. Let them buy the software and then we can all sit back and listen to their screams of frustration when real people aren't disappearing from real life.
